About Wheaton, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Wheaton, IL serves as the county seat of DuPage County, and it is found within Winfield and Milton Townships. It is situated about 30 miles west of Chicago’s city center, and as of 2012 the population was estimated at around 53,500. Wheaton is known as one of the most conservative suburbs of Chicago, and it features 45 churches within its city limits. Wheaton College is located close to the downtown area, and it is home to the Billy Graham Center, which is named after the most famous alumnus of the college. Other notable residents have included actors Jim and John Belushi and horror film director Wes Craven.

Wheaton is home to a variety of great attractions for visitors or residents. The Cosley Zoo houses more than 200 animals, and golf enthusiasts can find excellent courses at Arrowhead Golf Club, Cantigny Park and Golf Course, or the Chicago Golf Club. Outdoor recreation is also popular in this community, with the Illinois Prairie Path and Danada Forest Preserve both being found within the city.

Wheaton is part of a humid continental climate zone. Winters tend to be cold with potentially frigid temperatures. While average highs in January may reach the upper 20s, lows tend to fall in the single digits. Moderate snowfall will also be experienced, and while the U.S. average is approximately 25 inches per year, Wheaton will gain closer to 33 inches of snow each season. These cold and snowy conditions make it vital that residents invest in a high-quality heat pump or furnace to stay safe throughout the season.

Summers in Wheaton can be dangerous for other reasons. While the spring will generally be calm and pleasant, it can lead into a hot few months with high humidity. July is the hottest month of the year, and average highs reach the mid-80s. Most residents will invest in home air conditioning systems, and in addition to the climate control benefits that these appliances offer, they can also help to improve indoor air quality.
